Sherblato Strain

In this Sherblato strain review, youll learn about a budding cannabis strain that is taking over the west coast markets for both recreational and medicinal marijuana. Girl Scout Cookies has been popular for years now and Sherbert has been growing in popularity as one of the favorite GSC derivatives itself.

Unsurprisingly, the cannabis industry demanded more from these two cannabis strains. Thats where Sherblato comes in.

Sherblato Strain Genetics

Is Sherblato an indica or sativa strain? Sherblato is a sativa-dominant hybrid resulting from crossing Sherbert and Gelato. Both of these strains are quite popular in their own right and are spawned from the GSC heritage.

Sherbert, also known as Sunset Sherbert, is a well-known strain that is the result of crossing Pink Panties strain and GSC. Potent with an enjoyable essence, its hard to find anyone who doesnt like Sherbert!

Gelato is created by crossing Sunset Sherbert itself and Thin Mint GSC, which is one of the more popular phenotypes of GSC. Euphoria and relaxation are typical with this heavy-hitting cannabis strain.

As you can tell, GSC is the main player in the lineage of Sherblato. Pink Panties is the only other strain that brings uniqueness beyond the GSC heritage, with Sherbert being present twice and GSC being present 3 times over.

Those who want to take Sherblato for a test drive may have a hard time finding this bud at the moment, as it is quite new to the scene. However, there are seeds available through well-known seed banks online if you cant wait for your local dispensary to stock some of this dank bud.

It wouldnt be surprising to see this cannabis strain explode in popularity in the coming years due to the immense popularity of the parent-strains.

Fans of the GSC family of strains will naturally flock to Sherblato and it will probably grab newcomers to the world of marijuana as well with its blissful essence and enjoyable experience. Simply put, Sherblato is here to stay!

It should be noted that while this strain is typically listed as sativa-dominant, it is close to evenly balanced. Certain phenotypes will lean more towards indica than sativa. Seed dealers will usually list what their specific phenotype grows like, so take this into account before purchasing.

Sherblato Strain Yield

Sherblato can be a little difficult to grow for those without a natural green thumb. It is known to produce high yields if you can provide it with what it needs to thrive.

The plants can stretch to around 5-7 feet tall, so indoor growers should take care to top their plants and train them for more lateral growth than vertical growth. Outdoor growers can let them flourish as is or train them in similar ways, as it can boost bud production and quality whether you are indoors or outdoors.

For each square foot of the Sherblato plant, indoor growers can expect to harvest around 2-4 ounces of bud. Outdoor growers will be blessed with even more and can expect around 4-6 ounces per square foot. Its a heavy producer if you can keep it happy through the growing season!

It can be hard to find a high THC and high producing strain, so growers will rejoice when choosing to grow Sherblato for themselves.

Flowering Time

Sherblato takes around 7-9 weeks during the flowering stage. The large range has to do with the growing environment and how mature the grower would like the trichomes to be. In the earlier range of maturity, trichomes will be mostly milky-white in color and feature the highest percentage of THC.

Waiting more towards 8-9 weeks will allow the trichomes to turn more amber, which can lower THC a bit but raise the body-high effects that a cannabis strain can produce.

The buds arent particularly large even though this strain can be a heavy-yielding crop. The buds appear forest green with hints of violet and purple mixed in if there were low temperatures during the early stages of flowering to bring the colors out.

The hairs are light orange and the white trichomes almost appear purple as they ricochet the hues of the bud below.

THC Percentage

You can expect to find around 21-22% THC in your batch of Sherblato. While this isnt explicitly potent compared to some dankensteins that have hit the market recently, it is strong enough to make those who are sensitive to THC overconsume this bud without much effort.

Sherblato grants a great experience when smoked, first hitting the head. The mental effects are a bit spacey and tend to feel blissful and calm. The body high hits and you are left feeling the traditional feeling of stoned: relaxed, calm, and happy all over.

Luckily, this strain isnt known for inducing all-day couch-lock or sending you off the bed quickly. Its best suited for evening use but wont be like taking a hard-hitting sleeping pill. Most smokers will stay awake to enjoy the entire experience.

Sherblato Strain Flavor & Aroma

A mixture of tropical fruits and sour citrus dominates the essence. The aroma also features nuttiness intertwined with gas, which culminates into a pungent exhale. The delicious flavor and aroma that GSC, Sherbert, and Pink Panties are all known for come together to make Sherblato as delicious as cannabis can be!

Medical Conditions This Pot Strain Can Help

Medicinal users can use Sherblato to treat the following conditions:

  • Stress

Final Words On The Sherblato Weed Strain

The GSC and Sunset Sherbert genetics run deep in Sherblato. Fans of those strains will love what this strain has to offer. While the west coast markets are currently well-stocked in this hybrid cannabis strain, it can be a bit difficult to find elsewhere.

Luckily, you can grow your own from feminized seeds from many online seed banks.

Leafly holiday gift guide 2022: Massachusetts

Published

Give the perfect present with this curated weed gift list created with Massachusetts in mind.

Looking for the perfect plant-based gift for the cannabis lover in your life? Well, Massachusetts, we’ve got you covered! Instead of leaving your holiday shopping to the wayside, you can choose from some of Leafly’s favorite weed products on the market right now.

Whether the person on your list prefers smoking, eating edibles, or doing dabs, these picks are available at dispensaries across Massachusetts and will help everyone to relax, get cozy, and enjoy the holiday season.

(Blue River Terps/Leafly)

There are so many different concentrate consistencies out there, but for the dabber on your list, why not try Blue River Terps’ wintery snow rosin?

Blue River Terps calls its snow rosin the “world’s healthiest dab” because it’s created through a completely solventless process—no ethanol, butane, or other chemicals touch this concentrate. The name “snow rosin” comes from this rosin’s consistency. It’s light and flaky, breaking apart and dissolving like ice into water.

Each batch is derived from a single source and is strain specific, and the concentrate regularly tests in the high-90% range for total active cannabinoids. Terpenes make up between 1-3% of that.

Dabbers can either fire it up in a traditional dab rig or break it up and sprinkle it onto a joint or bowl for a terpy and potent boost.

With a reputation for its potency, Intergalactic from matter. is an indica-dominant strain ready to take seasoned explorers on a ride that’s out of this world.

The citrusy, sweet strain is known to spark creativity, so it’s the ideal holiday companion when it comes to decorating, baking cookies, or crafting homemade gifts. And creativity isn’t the only thing Intergalactic inspires—consumers report it can give a serious lift to appetites, as well.

Keep it handy for all your festive feasting this season.

(RYTHM/Leafly)

RYTHM grows great bud, hands down. Their nugs are always full and coated in trichomes, offering smooth, terpy hits. Brownie Scout, however, is a standout strain in RYTHM’s impressive lineup.

This strain is a hybrid that leans heavily on the indica side, and RYTHM growers claim Brownie Scout is one of their densest strains. With hefty purple buds coated with specks of orange and white crystals, they’re almost as nice to look at as they are to smoke!

Regularly testing around 30% THC, just a few hits of this potent flower will give you a euphoric feeling and encourage you to get some sleep. It’s perfect for de-stressing and settling in on a cold winter night.

Brownie Scout’s dominant terpenes include limonene, myrcene, and caryophyllene. Upon exhale, it tastes sweet and earthy with a kick of spice.

(Levia/Leafly)

Cannabis-infused drinks have taken hold of the Massachusetts market, and Levia is at the forefront. Founded in early 2021, Levia was one of the first cannabis seltzer brands in the state. Its drinks are formulated in Georgetown, MA, with local bud and other natural ingredients.

The company’s original unique flavors each clock in at 5 mg of THC, making them easy to dose. And these zero-calorie drinks start working a bit quicker than traditional edibles since the THC is partially absorbed sublingually when you drink one.

Bring a few cans to a holiday party or wrap them up as a gift, and you’re sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

(Fernway/Leafly)

Since Fernway‘s inception in 2018, few have been able to compete with its potent, flavored vape products. The brand is constantly innovating, and the Traveler disposable vaporizer rolled out in July. Along with all other Fernway products, it’s recyclable at partner dispensaries that sell them.

These vaporizers combine pure, distillate cannabis extract with botanical terpenes to make flavorful vapes with great effects. And they certainly pack a punch with the concentrate inside measuring at nearly 80% THC.

Fernway’s Cranberry Jam flavor is the perfect present for the vape-lover on your holiday list. The flavor is tart and crisp, earthy and unprocessed. Once you try one, you won’t want to smoke anything else.

The Traveler hardware comes fully charged and has a sleek, slim shape you can easily toss in a bag or pocket. Each comes pre-filled with 0.3 grams of cannabis extract, perfect for the friend who’s on the go—whether they’re new to vaping or a seasoned smoker looking for a high-quality, delicious option.

(Nature’s Heritage/Leafly)

This strain is perfect for winter, and not just because of its name. Nature’s Heritage flower bursts with terpenes and sports bright, beautiful colors, and Snowball is no exception. Its name comes from the brilliant, glittering crystals that coat its fluffy nugs.

Snowball is an indica-dominant hybrid that crosses The White and Chem 4. The White’s hybrid qualities balance out Chem 4’s high-testing indica traits, providing a solid head and body high. This strain typically tests in the low-20% THC range, making it perfect for a cozy, relaxing evening toke that won’t knock you out immediately.

The dominant terpenes in Snowball are myrcene and limonene, which provide an aroma of sweet citrus mixed with pungent gas. Expect a diesel-heavy hit on the inhale, followed by flavors of sweet, fruity cream. Pair a bowl of Snowball with a mug of hot cocoa for a heavenly, snug evening at home.

Leafly holiday gift guide 2022: Maryland

Published

By

Enjoy the holiday season with these highly-recommended weed products in Maryland.

In 2022, voters overwhelmingly approved legalizing adult-use cannabis in Maryland. This means better access, more brands, and, hopefully, more equity in a multi-billion-dollar industry.

As we wait for the Old Line State to get its full-fledged program up and running, Leafly still thought it was important to shout out some products that already have us feeling merry and bright.

We curated some of the best greens, concentrates, and edibles in Maryland to help you end the year with a bang or at least a billow of smoke. Check out our list of products below to fill your holiday with cheer!

(Grow West MD/Leafly)

Maryland’s medical marijuana program isn’t as boisterous and varied as some other states. But if you’re a fan of craft cannabis (and who isn’t?), Grow West MD has paved its lane of pesticide-free, thoughtfully-grown cannabis with a library of zaza and classic strains.

Grow West MD has its own categorization system to help you choose the blend that best fits your needs and tastes.

These buds work just as beautifully as they look, and they have options that run the terp gamut, from sweet to sour to kush to fruit-blasted. You can go old school with crosses like Cambodian Thai x BOEL Skunk or stay on trend with Forum Cookies x Aliendog Cherry and Grape Pearls.

Patients in Maryland who like to take their cannabis on the go will appreciate matter.’s line of medical marijuana-derived, terpene-infused vapes.

matter.’s careful cultivation and extraction processes are a winning combination that makes for potent, flavorful pulls from these convenient 0.5 g cartridges.

Staff at Maryland’s Verilife dispensaries call out CBD-dominant Piña Colada as a special highlight, and we agree. The gentle mix of euphoria and relaxation can put you in a beachside state of mind no matter how frightful the weather is outside.

(Dogwalkers/Leafly)

The cold weather can make smoking outside uncomfortable for long periods, especially when we could be bundled up inside with some hot cocoa. Luckily, these .35g “Mini-Dog” pre-rolls are good for sharing or smoking in a jiffy.

Dogwalkers Mini Dog pre-rolls come five to a pack for about 2.5g of flower total, and they hit, with some strains testing at up to 30% THC. The brand also carries “Big Dog” 0.75g joints for those who need a bigger breed of pre-roll.

(Evermore/Leafly)

If there was ever a hill to die on, advocating for solventless cannabis concentrates is mine.

In my experience as a budtender, consumer, and one-time Emerald Cup judge, rosin provides a smoother, more flavorful, and more interesting experience than a BHO-extracted product.

Evermore Cannabis Company has all major extraction forms on deck, but their cold cure rosin stands out. The price tag makes this concentrate a perfect treat-yourself gift for a holiday seshing on snowy evenings. Some choice strains from Evermore include Thai-Ger King, Peach Zeason, and East Coast Sour Diesel.

(MPX/Leafly)

Concentrate cartridges still hold our top spot for convenience and for portability, especially for people who don’t want to deal with the scent of smoke or the long-lasting effects of an edible.

Maryland has a few good vape brands, but both fans and High Times judges (Leafly even named it a best brand of 2018) vouch for MPX’s portfolio of concentrates, especially their vaporizer cartridges.

There’s no distillate here, folks—everything in these 510 cartridges is fresh-frozen live resin. They come in a compelling selection of terpy strains you can’t find everywhere, like Grape Mixtape, Fruity Lemon Stomper, and Desert Rose.

(Garcia Hand Picked/Leafly)

This brand honoring a California legend has a long reach. Co-created by The Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia’s family, Garcia Hand Picked produces flower and pre-rolls based on the late psychedelic musician’s tastes.

Now that Maryland allows edibles, Garcia Hand Picked has released a pack of hybrid THC gummies shaped like guitar picks in blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry flavors.

Each one is just 5 mg of THC, the perfect size dose for an impromptu jam sesh or a walk around downtown Baltimore.

Landrace Weed: OG Strains That Started It All

Published

on

By

There are so many weed names it has become comical. And it isn’t just the names either; aside from strains like “Cheetah Piss” or “Crouching Tiger Hidden Alien,” the sheer volume of strains that have been cultivated since marijuana has become mainstream is so unreal you have no other choice but to laugh.

As we venture on into a world with more and more cross-species specialty strains, it might be a good exercise to look back in time, to the plants that started this now colossal global industry.

The birth of cannabis may have started more than 2000 years ago. According to Science, there is “clear physical evidence that mourners burned cannabis for its intoxicating fumes on a remote mountain plateau in Central Asia some 2500 years ago.”

While science can use carbon dating to trace the birth of people getting high, the plants that have been getting people high for hundreds, and even thousands of years, are still around today. Whether along the trading routes of the Silk Road in Asia, or by natural plant evolution, several original strains of THC filled cannabis popped up around the world from South America, to India and Africa. These long-standing original strains of cannabis are the landrace strains.

A landrace strain is another way of saying the “original strain” or “OG” if you want to make it sound cool. Most of these landmark strains date back well before the 1960s, which is when Americans slowly started creating new strains by cross-breeding these landrace strains to form a new type of weed that had the best of two or more of these landrace strains.

RELATED: Is All Weed Basically The Same? Here’s What Scientists Recently Found

According to MedMen, “One of the very first was conceived by California’s famed underground Sacred Seeds. Dubbed Skunk #1 for its pungent aroma, the indica-dominant creation was a cross of three heavy-hitting landrace strains: Afghani, Acapulco Gold, and Colombian Gold.”

You might think that with all this cross-breeding and extraction from one strain to build more and more super strains that these landrace strains have been lost and forgotten by time. But they are, in fact, alive and well. You have likely even heard of several of the more popular landrace strains, as they are either common folklore or still available for purchase in cannabis dispensaries to this day.

Landrace strains are named after the geographical area where they were originally discovered and cultivated. Some popular landrace strains include Acapulco Gold, Maui Wowie, Hindu Kush, Afghani, Thai and many many others. These strains are still in existence today, often in part thanks to purists who continue to grow them.

RELATED: What Are Heirloom Marijuana Strains, Exactly?

Landrace strains are grown and preserved year after year, often preserving the best of each crop, just like farmers do with plants like heirloom tomatoes, which explains the other common name for landrace strains. “Another term for original landrace strains is heirloom strains, and you may see breeders and sellers of seeds use this term instead,” according to online dispensary Acreage Pharms.

Regardless of what you call them, without these original strains, the hundreds of cleverly (and not so cleverly) named new strains would not exist. So the next time you see Acapulco Gold or Hindu Kush on a dispensary menu, consider giving it a whirl. It will take you back in time, and help you understand what cannabis was many years ago, before it was a business.
