B.C. RCMP seize ‘large caches’ of precursor chemicals capable of producing several hundred million doses of fentanyl

Police in B.C. say they have taken down one of the largest and most sophisticated pill-pressing operations in the province’s history.

The seizure of the pill press, capable of producing approximately 60,000 pills an hour, was part of two separate investigations, according to B.C. RCMP.

The investigations focused on multijurisdictional and transnational organized crime and led to the execution of 11 search warrants in five B.C. municipalities, including Vancouver, North Vancouver, Delta, Richmond and Surrey.

Police seized more than a million pills, numerous firearms, cash, luxury goods and other illicit drugs. Police also recovered “large caches” of precursor chemicals capable of producing several hundred million doses of fentanyl and millions of doses of MDMA.
