Message of the dispensary The Beaver Dam has been allowed to open the first state dispensary since the medical marijuana became legal on January 1.

“The process of permission, zoning, checking is a rather difficult process,” said Tighman Hoffman General Manager in an interview with Public Radio WKU. “Becoming the first that was completely approved, we were very happy. We had a lot of inquiries, so we spend time and enjoy the moment.”

The exact date is not announced, but the operations are expected to begin in the fall. Hoffman said he was hoping for the opening in mid -September.

“This is another step forward when we are working to keep Kentuck with serious medical conditions to access the drugs they need and deserve,” said Governor Andy Besher in a social media message.
