A 27-year-old Ontario woman has been charged with possession of over 30 grams of dried cannabis in a public place after a traffic stop in the Township of Madawaska Valley.
Ontario Provincial Police in Killaloe conducted the traffic stop earlier this month in the township, which is about two hours west of Ottawa, reports CFRA.
The report does not note what prompted the stop but the charge was laid after OPP checked the contents of the vehicle.
Additionally, the driver was charged with driving a motor vehicle with no licence, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and failure to surrender an insurance card contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
The 27-year-old, a resident of Barry’s Bay, was released ahead of a scheduled court appearance next month.
