Florida Workshop to Discuss What Constitutes a ‘Cartoon’ in Hemp Packaging

The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in Florida is waiting for a workshop on Wednesday to discuss what a “cartoon” and other questions about the packaging of hemp products that can be considered “attractive to children”, The Florida’s news service Reports.

The workshop is specifically covering the new proposed implementation rules part of 2023 legislation Adjusting intoxication derived from hemp. The draft law included product test requirements, licensing rules and restrictions on hemp products targeting children.

Hemp industry lawyer Paula Savchenko said in the report that “industry fully supports reasonable, well -defined rules”, but uncertainties about the rule proposed by officials have raised legal concerns “.

“Language in order, such as prohibitions on ‘exaggerated commercial traits’ or ‘unnatural skills’, is highly subjective. Trulieve Set to List on NYSE

Multistate medical cannabis operator Trulieve Cannabis Corp. announced last week that the company expects to begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the symbol “TRLV” beginning June 10, 2026.

The announcement follows the rescheduling of state legal medical cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule III under federal law, creating new legal avenues and opportunities for state-licensed medical cannabis companies.

“As the first U.S. cannabis company to list on a major U.S. stock exchange, we are excited about the opportunity to expand our shareholder base, increase liquidity and increase awareness of the benefits of medical marijuana. President Trump’s sensible action to reclassify medical marijuana to Schedule III paved the way for this milestone. Trulieve operates state-licensed cannabis businesses in Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

The multi-state operator is listing on the NYSE after previously listing on the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE) under the symbol “TRUL” and the OTCQX under the symbol “TCNNF”.

Trulieve donated heavily to Florida’s failed 2024 cannabis legalization, bringing over $140 million to the effort. The company also contributed $19.6 million to the unsuccessful 2026 campaign bid.

Target Adds Intoxicating Hemp Beverages to Stores in Florida, Texas, & Illinois

Target is adding THC-infused hemp drinks to its locations in Florida, Texas and Illinois. BevNet reports. The products will be available in more than 300 locations across three states – including all locations in Florida and Texas.

In Illinois, the products will be available in municipalities that allow the sale of intoxicating hemp products.

A spokesperson for the retail giant told BevNet that the company is “always exploring new ways to meet … evolving guest preferences, based on … merchandising authority and focus on carefully thought-out curation of a relevant assortment.”

last year, The objective was announced would sell hemp liquor at 10 locations in Minnesota. That pilot included the Birdie, Cann, Gigli, Hi Seltzer, Indeed, Señorita, Stigma, Surly, Trail Magic, Wonder, Wyld and Wynk brands. According to BevNet, Target last month received approval from the Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management to sell lower-potency hemp products in 72 additional stores next year.

According to the report, some of the brands from the Minnesota startup, including Cann, Wynk, Trail Magic, Stigma, Gigli, Señorita and Daizy’s, will be included in the three-state expansion.

While the October launch in Minnesota was initially limited to 5-milligram products, the company added 10-milligram varieties.

Cannabis Sales Failed to March – New Cannabis Ventures

New Cannabis Ventures offers readers this easy-to-read exclusive summary of BDSA’s 15-state monthly cannabis sales data.

Cannabis sales rose 6.5% sequentially in March. Adjusted for the higher number of days, sales were down 3.8% sequentially on a daily basis. In this review, we break down the results by state, starting with the western markets and then ending with the eastern markets. Overall, the BDSA estimates sales in 15 markets totaled $2.14 billion in March, up 1.6 percent from a year ago.

Western markets

BDSA provides coverage for Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada and Oregon. In March, annual growth was negative in four states. Growth in each of these states fell consecutively on a daily basis.

Eastern markets

BDSA provides coverage for Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania. In March, annual growth ranged from -6.8% in Florida to +32.7% in Ohio. Ohio began using adults in August, spurring growth. Note that Florida and Pennsylvania are medical markets only. On a daily basis, sequential growth declined in seven out of ten markets. Annual growth was negative in five markets and rose sharply in only two states. We warned of a potential slowdown in Florida despite strong dispensary and unit volume growth due to competitive pressure.
