Colorado Department of Transportation highway construction engineers will review whether further speed limit reductions are necessary for safety in a work zone on Interstate 70 in west metro Denver — a day after a fatal pipe truck crash killed three people and left three others hospitalized.

Honeymoon-bound newlyweds, family killed in semitruck rollover crash on I-70

A newlywed couple and the mother of the bride were killed Thursday morning after a four-vehicle rollover crash involving a semitrailer spilled large pipes across the highway, family members said.

The couple’s 1-year-old baby and the father of the bride were injured in the crash and hospitalized. Police said the driver of the semi-truck was also injured.

Vehicle fire shuts down eastbound I-70 near Floyd Hill

Eastbound Interstate 70 is closed for a vehicle fire near Floyd Hill, Colorado Department of Transportation officials said.

The road is closed between exit 242, I-70 Business, and exit 244, U.S. 6, at mile point 242 because of a vehicle fire near mile point 244, according to a 10:51 a.m. post on X.

According to cotrip.org, CDOT’s trip planning website, the closure was causing a 25-minute delay for eastbound traffic and a 6-minute delay for westbound traffic.
