Amidst New York’s evolving cannabis market, Manhattan dispensary Housing Works Cannabis Co is introducing a buyback program. The initiative targets illegal cannabis products and aims to provide a safe alternative for consumers. Launched by Housing Works, the parent company of the city’s first legal adult-use dispensary, the “illegal cannabis buyback” program is meant to transition consumers away from illicit operators. It does so by exchanging illegally-bought goods—or those purchased from unlicensed operators—with discounts at the dispensary.
