Pornhub ranks up in traffic with the global players including Amazon, TikTok, Wikipedia and Reddit. The adult entertainment market is projected to grow from $65.95 billion in 2024 to $93.23 billion by 2028, driven by increasing demand for personalized content and technological advancements. The United States remained Pornhub’s largest audience, followed by France, the Philippines, and Mexico. Now, Pornhub reveals what people watched in 2024.
While a few states tried to block the site for their citizens, vast numbers fired up a VPN, which creates a secure, encrypted connection between the computer/phone and a remote server, hiding the IP address and keeping the state from seeing what searches. Women now represent 38% of global viewers, spending on average 17 seconds longer on the site than men. In the Philippines, female viewers outnumber males. Interestingly, the average time spent on the site decreased by 29 seconds, with younger adults (18-24) spending less than 76 seconds per visit.
Surprisingly, “demure” emerged as 2024’s top trend, with searches for the term rising by 133%. This aligns with increased interest in “mindful pleasure” (+112%) and “ethical porn” (+92%), suggesting a growing appetite for more authentic and respectful content. Hentai and anime-related searches continued their four-year dominance, with “realistic animated” searches increasing by 78%. a genre of Japanese mang.
The most searched terms in the U.S. were “hentai,” “latina,” “MILF,” “Asian,” “ebony,” and “lesbian”. Angela White reclaimed her position as the most-searched pornstar, followed by Abella Danger and Violet Myers.
Milf, continues to be one of the most searched terms. A colloquial term used to describe an older woman, typically a mother, who is considered sexually attractive. The term was reportedly collected as slang at UC Berkeley in 1992 and in the mid 90s Playboy magazine took up the term.
How people are watching is interesting with 90.5% of worldwide traffic, a 1% decrease from the previous year being on smartphones. Old school desktop or laptop watching was most popular in Australia, Peru, Poland, and Canada. Apple phone usage dropped by 27% in the last year.
Over at PornhubGay, the most searched terms remained similar to last year. Once again, “twink” took the top spot, followed by “anime” and then “pinoy,” which is a term used for a male of Filipino decent. Oddly enough, the term “pinay” landed in 3rd for straight and the term “pinoy” landed in 3rdfor gay.
In the US, Thanksgiving Day traffic dropped –33.5% and in Italy it fell 32.4% on the holiday Assumption of Mary.
