AB 471 (Kalra) passed the Assembly Business and Professions committee hearings today.
Licensed Caterer’s would now have the ability to offer cannabis as an alternative to alcohol or tobacco in private events such as weddings, parties, and more, where attendees must be at least 21 years of age.
AB 471 seeks to responsibly regulate activities that continue to happen in the illicit market by expanding the reach of legal cannabis activities to allow access to legal and tested cannabis products responsibly handled by a caterer.
Cannabis Cultivators and Brands could now offer a tasting experience direct to the consumers while supporting the entire cannabis supply chain from cultivators to retailers.
We wish to thank Assembly member Kalra for championing this responsible approach in regulating responsible use while promoting the viability of the entire legal cannabis market.
Special thanks to our regional partners and coalition members throughout California, Long beach Collective Association, Coachella Valley Cannabis Alliance Network, San Francisco Cannabis Retailers Alliance, Cannabis Beverage Association, Social Equity Los Angeles, Angeles Emeralds, Cannabis Travel Association, and the California Travel Association.
