Job Summary

Role and responsibilities
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of QA documentation, ensuring Good Documentation Practices on all applicable documents related to GPP
- Support the team with compliance requirements, follow up, and recommendations to ensure the quality of products is up to standards and consistent.
- Contribute your skills and knowledge to write, edit,review, and enforce our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work instructions, and Preventative Control Plans (PCP).
- Review, manage, and file records for all quality-related activities within the facility
- Provide support to the team with Health Canada and other external audits.
- Be proactive with improvements or efficiencies that can be made to our processes and systems.
- Stay up to date on technical Quality Assurance practices within the industry
- Maintain security and confidentiality of all aspects of the business
- Adhere to Health Canada Cannabis Act
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in science related field
- Working experience or successful internship working in QA in GPP or GMP environment in pharma, food and beverage or cannabis preferred
- Familiarity with QA systems including change control, deviation, CAPA and document control
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Extremely organized and detail oriented to manage multiple priorities
- The ability to accurately interpret documents, rule, regulations, and specifications.
- Capability to maintain both physical and mental fitness and alertness.
- Position requires ability to work at various levels of height and move freely and independently throughout all areas and levels of the building (including climbing stairs) to work in areas of production, labs, offices and others as needed.

Natural Medicine Division
The Natural Medicine Division (NMD) is a dynamic and innovative regulatory agency tasked with implementing the regulated Natural Medicine program in Colorado. The Division implements legislation, develops and recommends rules, conducts regulatory investigations, issues business licenses, engages in outreach and education initiatives, and enforces compliance mandates using a range of intervention strategies necessary to maintain a progressive and robust regulatory framework. The NMD promotes transparency and innovation by utilizing a collaborative approach to engaging with stakeholders, being data-driven, and proactively pursuing solutions to issues in a fast-paced professional environment.

Job Duties:
This position is located in the Lakewood Office of the Natural Medicine Division. It requires a unique level of expertise in reviewing and evaluating complex applications, conducts outreach with licensees and other stakeholders to encourage strict compliance with Regulations, conducts proactive monitoring and inspections to evaluate licensee compliance, and conducts complex investigations into the actions of licensees to determine if recommendations for administrative/disciplinary action is warranted.
COMPLIANCE INVESTIGATIONS & ENFORCEMENT
- Conducts offsite monitoring and onsite inspections of businesses to consistently interpret and assess compliance with applicable Colorado Natural Medicine Laws and Regulations.
- Supports and conducts prioritized investigations into youth access and product safety-related cases, leveraging Division tools such as the inventory tracking system and licensing database to inform investigative scope and approach.
- Develops intervention strategies designed to achieve immediate onsite correction and long-term compliance.
LICENSING INVESTIGATIONS
- Reviews licensing histories and background records of individuals and entities applying for ownership of, or a license to work in, a Regulated Natural Medicine Business.
- Evaluates applicants’ criminal history, tax history, additional background, and financial interests in other Businesses to determine suitability for licensure.
DATA REPORTING & STATISTICS
- Extracting and reporting data collected through a variety of databases, including licensing and inventory tracking data, to produce internal and external reports.
- Contributes to and leads the development of best practices for extracting the available data to create standard reports and identify trends.
- Briefs and presents relevant data and intelligence to inform the conversation during legislative and rulemaking processes.

- A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in compliance, investigations, auditing, monitoring, law enforcement, code enforcement, food safety, or risk assessment and management equal to six (6) years

Position summary
This role will support the legal and regulatory affairs function of the business, providing highly specialized regulatory services across the organisation, including managing regulatory compliance, preparation and submission of accurate regulatory documentation, performing research and preparing regulatory strategies, implementing process improvements and providing regulatory advice and support across the business as needed.

- Undertake research and preparation of advice in respect of local regulatory updates to the Act, Regulations, Guidance’s and Therapeutic Goods Orders and feedback impact to the business as required.
- Review and assessment of proposed changes to products or facilities.
- Organisation and maintenance of legal and regulatory registers and filing systems.
- Manage workflow for the legal and regulatory function, including tracking progress and due dates of open matters, licensing and data entry.
- Develop key relationships with various Cann departments as required to ensure regulatory services are integrated with operations.
- Contributing to team discussions and providing innovative suggestions around process improvements and provide regulatory advice to Cann Group Limited to assist with good business decision making.
- Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for regulatory associated activities, as applicable.

Person Specification
Qualifications / Licences
- Tertiary Qualification in Life Sciences (i.e. chemistry, biology, microbiology, veterinary, pharmacy etc.).
- Current Driver’s Licence (Victoria).
- Police clearance.
Experience
- Educated to a degree level in pharmaceutical, medical or science related subjects.
- Minimum 5 years pharmaceutical industry experience in regulatory affairs preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of regulatory affairs and hands-on experience with regulatory planning, submission preparation and discussions with regulatory authorities.
- Highly skills in prioritising work and meeting deadlines.
- Strong ability to work with a high degree of independence and with sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Exceptional proofreading skills; accurate with meticulous attention to detail.
