No Room To Grow

According to the book Emotional Intelligence 2.0, it’s easy to get stuck on jobs, especially if you’re good or enjoy what you’re doing. If you see that the people who surround you are getting promotions, and advancing in their careers, then maybe it’s time to look for another job that’ll help you develop your skills and grow as a professional.

You’re Left Out Of Big Decisions

If you never meet any upper management people and see that your co-workers have important meetings without you, then maybe they see you as someone who’s simply filling in a desk and not providing much input. To solve this, you could try to be more proactive in your work or discussing matters with a superior. If that doesn’t work then it’s time to look for another job or company that better suits your needs.

You Know More Than Your Boss

One of the most frustrating things to experience is to feel like you know more than your coworkers. When you feel this with your superior, then it’s definitely time to consider other options. Considering your boss inferior to you also means that you don’t trust your company’s leadership and that your job isn’t as stable as it should be.

Your Personal Life Is Suffering

If you find yourself lashing out on friends, significant others, and family members over your job, you must reevaluate yourself. When it comes to leaving, be smart about it and explain your situation clearly. You must always get the best out of every situation, even one where you’re unhappy with your workplace.

A Guide To Your First Marijuana Dab

Like tequila – there are beginners and experience drinkers….each having their own journey.  In the cannabis world you have people who microdose gummies and those who want a deeper, stronger experience by dabbing. Dabbing is thought to produce a greater high than smoking marijuana. Compared to other marijuana consumption methods, dabbing delivers one of the quickest highs. It also tends to produce a stronger high, since the THC is more concentrated.  Here is a guide to your first marijuana dab.

Educate Yourself

Dabbing is not anything like smoking a joint. It requires a whole new set of tools. The cannabis is in completely different form. The psychoactive effect is exponentially more intense. And the intoxication will last longer.

Essentially, a dab is a small dose of highly concentrated cannabis that is heated on a hot surface and then inhaled. Focus on the word “concentrate” — and fully grasp the meaning. Cannabis concentrates are exactly what they sound like: Take the herb and extract all the THC out of it as you can. The extreme amount of THC in the concentrate means you will need very little (just a dab) to achieve the psychoactive effect.

Dabs are concentrated doses — typically about the size of a Tic-Tac breath mint — of marijuana.  Dabs are manufactured by extracting THC, most commonly by using a solvent such as butane. The end product is a potent oil often referred to as wax, honey, shatter, budder, crumble or butane hash oil (BHO).

Typical marijuana bud contains roughly 15 to 25 percent THC; concentrates typically range between 65 to 85 percent THC, depending on the type and quality of the product.

Find A Dab Buddy

Dabbing alone is not advised the first few times you try it. Find a friend who is willing to experiment with you — or at least be your chaperone as you do it yourself. Ideally, you will know someone who not only has tried it, but can bring along his or her own dab kit — the set of tools one needs to dab correctly.

Why a dab buddy? Just as a precaution in case you feel faint or paranoid. Other possible side effects include a rapid heartbeat and hallucinations. If you feel any of these symptoms, hydrate, lay down and close your eyes.

Remember, you can’t suffer a fatal overdose from cannabis — including dabbing. But you can harm yourself if you should fall down. Your dad buddy is there for insurance just in case the situation becomes uncomfortable.

What You Need

The technology of dabbing is changing quickly, with more and more ancillary products promising more effectiveness, greater ease or lower cost. But, essentially, if you are going to dab on a regular basis, you will need to purchase some new tools:

  • The concentrate: Whether it is wax, honey, shatter, budder, crumble or BHO, this is the THC-rich product. It is highly recommended you purchase the concentrate from a licensed, tested retailer. There is a lot of black market wax out there is full of residual contaminants from processing. The raw material needs to be high quality — which does not mean high in THC, it means well made. Start small. A small dose looks no larger than a crumb. If you need more, go for a second dab. But it’s better to be cautious when it comes to dosage.
  • Dabber: The dabber looks like a small poker. Typically, the dabber is made of metal or glass or ceramic and is used to apply the concentrate to the nail. With the dabber, take the small amount of the concentrate and keep it on the tip of the dabber.
  • Dab rig: Dab rigs, also known as oil rigs, are basically glass water pipes (bongs) used for vaporizing extracts, oils, and concentrates. Like bongs found at head shops, there are sorts of sizes, shapes and colors. You will use the rig to inhale the fumes after lighting the nail.
  • Nail: The nail fits inside the gauge of your rig (or water pipe). Most experts swear by the nails made of high-quality titanium, but there are also ceramic nails and quartz nails. Glass nails are out there, but are a bit tricky.
  • A dome (or carb cap): There are some “domeless nails” on the market, do not require a carb cap, but most standard nails need a dome to trap the vapor. Essentially, all the dome does is limit the amount of air flow inside the rig, allowing for the vapor to be inhaled rather than vanish in thin air.
  • A torch: Have you ever used a crème brulee torch? Well, if you have then you will be able to use a dab torch. A butane cigar lighter or something like is simply not powerful enough for a dab. The torch is used to heat the nail to extreme temperatures. The goal is a red-hot nail in a short amount of time.
  • Butane: You’ll need butane to refill the torch.

  1. Sit Down: Dabbing is best sitting down. Get comfortable on a couch or chair. Have all the tools arranged in front of you.
  2. Heat Nail: Turn on the butane torch. Once you have properly adjusted the flame, heat the nail until it begins turning a medium shade or red.
  3. Dome It: Once the nail is red-hot, turn off the torch — the last thing you need is to accidentally start a fire. Turning off the torch is important. Now the nail is ready, place the carb cap or dome over the nail.
  4. turn off your torch and place the glass dome over the nail. It’s recommended to let titanium nails cool for about 10 seconds and quartz nails about 45 seconds so the surface temperature isn’t too hot.
  5. Apply Dab: After the nail is domed or covered, count to 1o to let the nail cool just a little. Put the dabber in your dominant hand and touch the dabber on the hot nail. You will see white vapor (it looks like smoke, but it’s really vapor) collecting inside the dome. Slowly inhale. Rotate the tip of the dabber on the nail until the concentrate is gone.
  6. Exhale: Stay seated for a few minutes. Drink a glass of water. Enjoy the experience. And thank your dab buddy,

The Best New Year’s Resolutions To Help Find Love

Love makes the world go round – or so they say. It seems some people have terrible luck in attracting people. The good news is while people get stuck in a routine of behavior, you can work to delve habits to better attract and engage people. Her are the best New Year’s resolutions to help find love.

This may sound super cheesy, but it could actually help you land more dates. According to a study, researchers found that those whose resting faces seemed cheerful were judged as being healthier. Alex Jones, an expert in facial perception, wrote in The Conversation that:

“We discovered that faces look healthier when they are smiling, compared to a neutral expression, and that it doesn’t matter whether the faces are male or female. We also found that this effect increased with the age of the face: while younger adults look healthier when they smile, older adults look much healthier.

A smile was a more important cue than how old the face appeared to be, and more recent research has shown a happy expression is even more important than cues like adiposity or skin colouration. Scientific proof that a smile really is the best accessory.”

Be Kind

Kindness, compassion, and empathy are essential to forming deep connections with other people. In fact, this trait was key to our survival as a species. Humans’ ability to form long-term social bonds contributed greatly to our evolution and success as a group. Kindness does not have to be a grand gesture. Often, you can demonstrate kindness for others simply by being conscious of those around you and treating others with respect. Do small things like opening doors for others or greeting people with a smile.

According to Jones, smiling basically sends a message to others that you’ll live a longer and healthier life by virtue of being optimistic and cheerful.

Set realistic goals

Instead of aiming for marriage, how about setting smaller, more attainable goals, like going on two dates per week or striking up a conversation with 5 people this month? As you cross these stepping stones, the larger goals will seem more doable.

Get out of your comfort zone

Swipe right on someone you may not otherwise consider. Just because someone is short, bald or a little out of shape doesn’t mean they aren’t worth your time. If nothing else, it’ll get you out of the house and into dating mode. Plus, your self confidence is likely to get a boost.

Give second chances

Did that first date not go so well? Don’t sweat it. Writing someone off after a single date could be a big reason why you’re still single. David Vermeulen, founder of elite dating app The Inner Circle, told INSIDER:  “Some people are really uncomfortable the first time they see somebody. You have to sell yourself in a way. Some people can do it really well, and some people can’t, but at the same time they’re obviously a nice person.”

Vermeulen says unless the first date was a complete disaster, you should give someone a second shot at romance.

Should Marijuana Be Part of a Major Conversation

The topic might be heavy, the mood might be heavy, but finding the right words is imperative. It is important to be clear, to have a message and to be ready to questions, feedback and maybe even pushback.  All this means being on your A game.  No expert would suggest having significant alcohol before a sharing something about a life change.

Utilizing cannabis before a talk might be beneficial, but it can also be detrimental. It depends on many factors, not the least is the topic at hand.  There are subjects we think long and hard about before bringing them up, however, they might be enhanced by either microdosing THC or imbibing in an amount you know you’re confident and have the ablity to share and the guide the information.. Changes in relationships can be some of the more difficult conversations, but elevating the discourse with a little cannabis can help you be more present, empathetic and delve deeper into what it is that you’re conveying and why.

Talking health issues is another place where cannabis may not only enhance the conversation, but may be a key part of what’s discussed. Everyone has at least one cannabis-resistant relative, but if said loved one is suffering, having a talk with them about introducing marijuana into their treatment may alleviate their suffering if you can get through. The key here is not to be stoned, but lifted, and to have talking points laid out before entering the room.

When it comes to having a talk with a close friend to whom you’re breaking news or bringing up concerning actions or habits that have cropped up, introducing cannabis to the discussion can take the edge off for both of you. Stand firm in your convictions, but listen and try to see things through their eyes, no matter who you’re talking with.

If you’re not a daily or even weekly pot smoker or user, microdosing is definitely the recommended route pre-talk. Sometimes staying sober is the easiest route. If you want to remain clear-headed but need a little something, microdose with sativa. Then get a good, heady indica for after. You’ll probably have a lot to think about afterwards as well and that’s when cannabis will really be relieving to end a long day. Just don’t overthink what can’t be unsaid and breathe it out with every fragrant exhale.
