FIGHTING FOR CANNABIS REFORM | ATHAR HASEEBULLAH (cannabis Law)

Published

on

The removal of cannabis from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act is a proposed legal and administrative change in cannabis law at the federal level that can be undertaken by Congress, The Executive Branch or The United States Attorney General and has been proposed repeatedly since 1972. Schedule I is the most tightly restricted category reserved for drugs that have “no currently accepted medical use”. The scheduling of cannabis is also an issue that needs to be addressed at the state level and often conflicts with cannabis legalization laws, allowing for cannabis possession arrests to continue to occur even in those states where it has been legalized. On this episode of Let’s Be Blunt, Montel speaks with the Executive Director of the NV ACLU, Athar Haseebullah. Athar is a graduate of Howard University and Howard University School of Law. He spent several years as a litigator for both the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada and the City of New York.

This development crashed stock prices, and sent farmers and distributors, and probably a few smoke shop owners and convenience stores into a panic. Andrews Behringer in Washington DC, LeVanna Vassau in California, Tina Tasaka in Nevada, Lisa Williams in Texas. PCM Founder Jimmy Young interviews NEWS 13 NY Tara Rosenblum on her cannabis contest documenting 3 social equity participants for two years in that crazy NY market.
