Alert: Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board Welcomes New Board Member

Published

(LAS VEGAS, NV) – Last month, Governor Joe Lombardo announced the appointment of Adriana Guzmán Fralick to the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB).

Guzmán Fralick replaces outgoing CCB Board Member Dennis Neilander. Neilander was one of the initial three members of the CCB appointed before the agency officially began its oversight role in 2020. He was then reappointed to the CCB in 2021. Prior to his appointment, Neilander was the longest serving Chair of the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Neilander is stepping down to spend more time with his family and new grandchild.

“I thank Dennis for all his contributions to making this agency a success including his initial work leading up to the agency’s launch,” said CCB Chair Michael Douglas. “His extensive regulatory experience and guidance will be missed.”

Guzmán Fralick has been appointed to fill the remainder of Neilander’s four-year term before being eligible for reappointment in 2025.

“I look forward to welcoming Adriana to the Board,” said Chair Douglas. “I am confident her experience and expertise will make an immediate impact.”

Currently a Reno-based attorney, Guzmán Fralick has an extensive record of public service in Nevada. Her legal and regulatory experience spans several state agencies and offices including Governor Jim Gibbon’s administration, the Nevada Commission on Ethics, the Nevada Public Utilities Commission, and the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Raised in northern Nevada, her dedication to the Silver State extends through her volunteer service in the community.

The CCB’s next board meeting is on February 28.
