Rapper Afroman has performed many shows in Colorado and each time he visits, the people here always seem to make him uncomfortable with how nice they are.

“One time I was looking for an address and three strangers came from out of nowhere trying to help me find it. I didn’t know if someone was trying to steal my wallet,” he said with a laugh. “I never been uncomfortable with people being nice ’til I got to Colorado. It was giving me the goosebumps.”

Still, Afroman keeps coming back because of the vibe – “I call it California in the deep freezer,” he said, in large part because of the abundance of weed here.

Canadian wildfire smoke triggers poor air quality, health advisories in Colorado

Haze blanketed Colorado on Monday as wildfire smoke drifted from Canada, and the gray skies are expected to hover overhead for at least another 24 hours.

The wildfire smoke led the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Regional Air Quality Council on Monday to issue public health advisories, recommending people limit outdoor activity. The smoke is increasing the amount of ozone and fine particulate matter in the air.

Air monitors across northern Colorado and the Front Range were showing high concentrations of particulate matter, which can be smoke, soot, ash or liquid particles that people can inhale.

Nuggets Summer League impressions: Trey Alexander standing out, Jalen Pickett struggling

Now that the first weekend of NBA Summer League is over, games throughout this week will probably feature less and less of the key rotation-caliber players.

That certainly applies to the Nuggets. Standout guard Julian Strawther was in street clothes Tuesday at Denver’s 80-66 loss to the Charlotte Hornets, and he’ll likely be done for the duration of the team’s stay in Las Vegas.
