Is the medellin strain indica or sativa?

According to  Medellin Strain info, it is said to be named after the Columbian city of the same name. It is a bold sativa dominant hybrid strain that may side-swipe you into indica town if you get carried away. Medellin weed strain has a 60% sativa to 40% indica ratio, though due to its potent effects, many users have claimed it felt more indica leaning

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, whereas others would just call it counterfeiting. The Medellin marijuana strain has grown so rapidly in popularity that it left a trail of fakes in its wake, so buy with caution. Just because pot comes in flashy packaging, that doesn’t mean it’s legit and if you have doubts, then rather go to the source.

Genetics

The two flavorful and powerful strains that make up the Medellin stain genetics are both famous in their own right. Wedding Cake strain is a tasty combination of Cherry Pie and GSC (Girl Scout Cookies) that has grown worldwide recognition. It’s a 70:30 indica dominant strain that’s known for ultra-relaxing highs that still allow you to retain focus, despite its 25% THC level.

Medellin strain’s other parent strain is Sirius Chem D, the cosmic result of the intergalactic union of Stardog and Chemdawg. Sirius Chem D is a balanced hybrid that’s known for its high THC levels and generous yields, both indoors and outdoors.

The yields that you can expect will depend on the conditions of your grow setup and the cultivation knowledge implemented, but overall the Medellin weed strain generates medium-sized yields. The average yield growers can expect indoors is 1-2oz/ft2 and 10-15oz per plant for outdoor growers.

Effects

The Medellin strain effects are incredible, enjoyable, and euphoric, but they are by no means gentle. The buzz comes on fast and hits hard, but if consumed in rational quantities, it still allows you to function and focus on the day ahead. It’s a great strain for wake-n-bakes and daytime blazing, allowing you to be sociable and energized.

Here’s our list of the best morning strains to start your day!

The sativa and indica traits of Medellin will present themselves depending on the quantities you smoke, with the indica side setting in as you ingest more. Many users have found that the Medellin strain provided relief to their pain as well as arthritis symptoms. However, others have reported side effects as well. These include anxiety, headaches, dizziness, increased heart rate, and serious bouts of couchlock. Dry eyes and mouth are also to be expected.

Terpenes

The Medellin marijuana strain has a pungent scent with layers of citrus meets cheese. The Caryophyllene terpenes lend to the soft hints of pine that permeate through the thick wall of fuel and funk. Its flavor is previewed in the scent, with limonene terps carrying through the taste of strong lemon citrus mixed with sweet earth and vanilla. Smoking smooth and gentle on the throat, tones of musk with subtle gas flavors are present, especially on the exhale.

How strong is the Medellin strain?

The Medellin weed strain is as strong as the city it’s named after, with THC levels that average in the low to mid-twenties. It has been reported that it can reach as high as 30%.

Grape Gas aka Grape Gasoline Weed Strain Information

Published

on

By

Passing gas is rarely appreciated. Unless, of course, you’re passing a joint of the Grape Gas strain. Also known as Grape Gasoline, this cultivar has harbored many fans in the cannabis world – and just as many imitators. So what is it that makes the Grape Gas weed strain so appealing?

The ILGM research team does its best to keep all information up to date, but some details are not yet available.

Grape Gas strain genetics

Though generic versions of Grape Gas exist, sources say the original comes from a collaboration between Cannarado Genetics and Compound Genetics. The two renowned breeders developed the Grape Gas cannabis strain using two grade A cultivars from their own stock: Grape Pie and Jet Fuel Gelato.

Colorado-based Cannarado Genetics created Grape Pie by combining Cherry Pie and Grape Stomper. It’s an indica-dominant (70:30) hybrid with a mid-to-high THC content of around 20%. Grape Pie delivers a super chilled body buzz, euphoric head highs, and a sweet and spicy flavor. It’s relatively easy to grow, although it prefers warmer Mediterranean climates.

Jet Fuel Gelato from Portland-based Compound Genetics comes from a cross between Jet Fuel and High Octane. It’s a balanced hybrid with high levels of THC (around 23%) and powerful effects to match. The high comes on hard and fast with a focused, uplifted buzz.

When comparing Grape Gas strain prices, double-check the genetics, as some cultivars with this name have different parents from the original. One such cultivar crosses The Truth with a blend of OG Chem and Granddaddy Purple. And be careful not to mistake it for Grape Gas #7, a hybrid from True Canna Genetics with a very different lineage.

Growing Grape Gas strain

Sources say the Grape Gas weed strain grows easily indoors and outdoors, as well as in various climates. It has a strong natural resilience and lacks many finicky tendencies in other strains of this caliber. Grape Gas growers quickly, often jumping in size during the flowering stage. You may need additional support structures to help prevent your plant from breaking under its weight.

The weed Grape Gas produces is bold and flashy and will certainly have you invited back to any smoking circle in no time. Its buds are dense in body and fragrance, giving off a notable pungency that becomes even more prevalent when the nuggets are crushed. The purple-tinted buds are drenched in a thick coating of trichome crystals likely to clog up grinders for many smokers worldwide. Consumers often favor strains like this for resin pressing due to their extremely high number of crystal trichomes.

Grape Gas strain flowering time

When your Grape Gas marijuana strain plants are slowly budding and filling out, the anticipation of reaping your harvest-time rewards can have you feeling like a kid coming up to Christmas. As with many things in life, great things are worth waiting for, so expect an average of around 60-70 days if you’re running an indoor grow. Outdoors you can prepare for harvest in mid-October.

Grape Gas strain autoflowering time

The autoflowering version of the Grape Gas strain, like most autoflowers, starts blooming very early. Because it doesn’t require light deprivation to start flowering, expect the first buds to appear after four to six weeks. Grape Gas strain autoflowers can be harvested after ten to fourteen weeks. That makes its (auto)flowering time between four and ten weeks long.

Grape Gas strain yield

The average yield of any cannabis plant depends on several factors, including the skill of the cultivator, growing conditions, strain genetics, and size and health of the plant. It also differs between photoperiod and autoflower plants. However, you can use general estimates as a potential yield per plant guideline.

For photoperiod plants, this is 16-64 ounces (450-1814 grams) outdoors and 8-24 ounces (227-680 grams) indoors.

Check out our comprehensive list of the best 8 high yield strains (indoors and outdoors) to maximize your grow!

Grape Gas strain autoflower yield

The potential yield per plant for autoflowering plants is 1.7-7 ounces (50-200g) outdoors and 1.7-4.2 ounces (50-120 grams) indoors.

Grape Gas strain effects

Grape Gas is more than just a grower’s dream; it’s a sublime smoking experience perfect for chilled late afternoons and relaxing weekends. Grape Gas gives you a calm, relaxed high that’s still packed with creative energy and a euphoric buzz. Consumers say it’s also great for easing aches, pains, insomnia, and appetite issues. Many comments from Grape Gas strain reviews note the powerful munchies this weed induces, so be sure to plan ahead and have some snacks ready.

How strong is Grape Gas strain?

The Grape Gas strain’s THC level ranges from 18% to 22%, making it a fair choice for veteran and newbie smokers. However, some side effects have been reported, such as dry, red eyes, cottonmouth, and in some cases, mild paranoia and headaches. So consume in moderation, especially if you have a low THC tolerance

Grape Gas strain terpenes

As you may expect from its name, Grape Gas has heavy notes of berries and fuel. Myrcene, caryophyllene, and limonene terpenes have a strong presence in both flavor and aroma, providing a smooth, flavorful smoke.

Aroma & Flavor

If you prefer sweet and stanky strains, you’ll enjoy the fragrance. Its boldly pungent aroma is made up of a dough-like sweetness mixed with a rich earthiness that gets even stronger when you crack open the buds.

Flavor-wise, this delectable hybrid is hard to turn down and will have you returning for more. The taste of diesel is layered with a strong sweet berry flavor that becomes more prominent on the exhale.

Is Red Velvet indica or sativa?

With multiple cultivars on the market, pinpointing the exact indica-to-sativa ratio can be challenging. The Red Velvet strain sativa or indica dominance will vary between cultivars based on breeder, lineage, and how it is grown.

For instance, Red Velvet strain by TKO Reserve is a 50/50 hybrid with a 20-25% THC content. It draws equally from its indica and sativa traits to deliver a cerebral boost with physical calm. This balanced high allows you to maintain composure and keep your feet on the ground, despite your cannabis-driven mental altitude.

Red Velvet genetics

Multiple interpretations of the Red Velvet strain genetics exist, but some versions are more prominent than others.

There’s the Grandiflora Red Velvet strain, which uses a cross of Lemon Cherry Gelato and Pina Acai. Lemon Cherry Gelato is a balanced hybrid, while Pina Acai leans slightly indica. Both strains have mysterious origins, but sources say Lemon Cherry Gelato could be a Lemon Haze phenotype.

TKO Reserve offers a Cherry Pie and Burmese Thai cross. Cherry Pie is an indica-dominant blend of Granddaddy Purple and Durban Poison with up to 23% THC. Burmese Thai (aka Burmese Kush) is an evenly balanced cross of a Burmese indica and OG Kush with low-to-mid levels of THC.

Other genetic versions include Orange Velvet/Redrum, Cherry Thai/Burmese Thai, and Lemon Cherry Gelato/unknown strain.

Red Velvet grow info

With so much uncertainty over which version is the original,  Red Velvet strain info is greatly lacking for growers. And there’s no guarantee the information you do find is relevant to the version you have. But you can get an idea of what to expect based on the parent strains (so research the cultivar you want before buying your Red Velvet strain seeds).

The visual appeal of Red Velvet persists from the tree to the bag with light, olive-colored buds and a sticky layer of frosty trichomes with purple and pink tints. This stunning hue carries through to the pistils and sugar leaves, making Red Velvet as visually attractive as it is satisfying.

Growing Red Velvet outdoors

Red Velvet grows medium-sized plants with thick foliage and dense nuggets. Most growers say it’s easy to grow indoors and out, preferring warm Mediterranean climates. But the true success of your harvest depends on what you put into it. You’ll yield better results with the proper techniques, climate control, and nutrition management – so download your Grow Bible now if you haven’t already.

Red Velvet effects

The Red Velvet strain effects live up to the essence of decadence its name invokes, making it the ideal afternoon indulgence. Its mentally uplifting, physically soothing high works on your mind, body, and soul in equal measure to leave you blissful and carefree.

The cerebral boost is uplifting and euphoric, elevating your mood and filling you with a sense of drive and creativity (and possibly even the giggles). The accompanying body buzz is strong but not so potent that it robs you of your entire day. Unless you overindulge, in which case you may become couch-locked. Otherwise, the side effects are mild: increased appetite, thirst, and dry eyes.

Flavors & Smell

Red Velvet weed strain’s yummy range of terpenes earns it a top spot at the dessert table – and rightfully so. This smoke is velvety smooth, boldly sweet, and downright irresistible.

Its sugary berry taste has notes of herbs, spices, and subtle creamy chocolate, with a touch of diesel on the exhale to round it off. The fragrance is a more pungent diesel with earthy undertones, hints of spice, and a fresh fruity flavor topping it off.

Myrcene lends Red Velvet its earthy, musky tones while promoting upliftment and relaxation. The strain’s peppery spiciness comes from b-caryophyllene, an effective anti-inflammatory. Perhaps not all things decadently sweet are bad for you after all.

Frosted Flakes strain genetics

The origins of this Frosted Flakes weed strain are unknown except to the crazy, creative people that made it. Fortunately, its lineage is well established, offering some insight into the history of this frosty treat. With more Bubba than the Midwest, Its parents are a kushy combination of the Pre-98 Bubba Kush and White Bubba Kush strains.

Pre-98 Bubba Kush averages 20% THC content and has earned a reputation as a potent indica-dominant (80:20) hybrid with heavily sedating effects. Like its kick, the flavor is intense and full-bodied, displaying thick earthy tones with a mix of coffee, spice, and diesel. It presents excellent resilience against mold and mildew and tends to be much easier to grow than its counterpart. Though it may be a trickier grow, White Bubba Kush outweighs Pre-98 in THC and indica dominance. It averages around 25% THC with a 90:10 indica-to-sativa ratio. It’s also far fruitier than Pre-98, with bold skunky citrus and a sweet and sour blend.

Other Frosted Flakes strain genetics include a Miracle Alien Cookies and NH3 cross by Taylormade Selections and a Dosidos/Tony Clifton blend by Secret Society.

Frosted Flakes strain grow info

Considering all the variations of the Frosted Flakes strain, seeds may be tough to get your hands on. If you’re lucky enough to get some, you’ll be happy to learn it grows indoors and outdoors with relative ease. It responds well to the SCROG method and has a healthy resistance to mold and mildew.

Frosted Flakes has incredible bud appeal with a striking resemblance to the White Widow strain. Its appearance lives up to its name, with a thick frosting of snowy white trichomes coating its long, dense, round-shaped buds. Bright orange pistils creep along the surface of the light green nugs, while deep purple sugar leaves complete the look.

Growing Frosted Flakes strain outdoors

Its dominating indica genes suggest Frosted Flakes will likely develop short, bushy plants and prefer warm, humid climates. It produces broad leaves and benefits from frequent pruning and adequate airflow. In addition to its mold and mildew resistance, it’s also considerably resilient against bugs. With the cultivar’s awesome genetics and your trusty Grow Bible in hand, you’ve got all you need for a successful grow.

Frosted Flakes strain effects

Frosted Flakes strain effects are not what you’d generally expect from an indica-dominant strain. As a hardcore smoker, you may find its effects underwhelming, meaning it could be a winner if you’re a newbie. Its uplifting and energizing high and medium THC is a great choice for any time, letting you smoke all day without getting comatose-stoned. The high is relaxing and euphoric without debilitating couch lock.

Aside from the creative and uplifting high it supplies, many found Frosted Flakes key in easing their discomfort. Users also found that it aids in dealing with the discomfort associated with insomnia, fatigue, aches and pains, stress, and depression. The side effects of this strain are often considered mild, with munchies, red eyes, and cottonmouth being the main culprits.

Flavors & smell

Adding to its namesake, Frosted Flakes is known for its fresh fruit and cereal flavor. The combination of sweet, creamy, and earthy flavors is reminiscent of a bowl of frosted cornflakes, except it’s drizzled in THC resin. With strong notes of citrus and pine, its fragrance carries across to the flavor and back, with bold incense-like floral and fruit elements.
